Immigration Legal Assistant :
A law firm that serves the Hispanic community throughout the NYC Metropolitan Area, as well as NJ and CT, is seeking a highly motivated bilingual Legal Assistant for its Immigration practice in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting attorneys and clients with the preparation and filing of petitions, waivers, visa applications, etc., as well as correspondence with USCIS.
Organizing and tracking cases status and assisting in the management of attorney court appearances, calendars and client matters.
Completing client intakes, interviews and providing friendly customer service.
Must have good writing and communication skills, ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule, ability to multi-task, in depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles, and the ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy.
A minimum of 1-2 years of paralegal experience required. Knowledge of immigration courts, court procedures and USCIS website is necessary.
Proficiency in Spanish and a desire to assist immigrants achieve the America Dream is a must.
